Wistron Corporation's Zhubei plant has been approved by Taipei Customs to be registered as a bonded factory. Customs Director Huang Hanming visited the plant on May 16, 2015 and co-hosted the unveiling ceremony with the company's global manufacturing plant general manager Lai Zhizhong. The ceremony was simple and grand.
Founded in 2001, Wistron Corporation is one of the world's major information and communications product suppliers, with operations in North America, Europe and Asia, providing diversified and global services. The company is a professional OEM service provider dedicated to product R&D, design, manufacturing and services. In recent years, it has expanded its business into the AI field. In order to serve more customers, reduce operating costs and enhance industry competitiveness, in addition to the existing Hukou Plant and Hukou Plant 2 bonded factories, this application is to include the Zhubei Plant in the bonded operating scope.
Taipei Customs further stated that factories registered as bonded factories after approval by the customs can enjoy the preferential treatment of tax exemption for processing and exporting imported raw materials, which can reduce the operating costs of businesses and enhance the international competitiveness of manufacturers. The customs will uphold its consistent service spirit and provide a more convenient and high-quality customs clearance environment to assist bonded manufacturers in seizing business opportunities and expanding exports.
