The Northern District National Taxation Bureau of the Ministry of Finance stated that the 2013 corporate income tax settlement and declaration period is from May 1 to May 31 of this year (2014). The bureau encourages taxpayers to use the Internet to handle declarations more often, and to use the Internet instead of the streets, so that taxpayers can complete their declarations safely and conveniently without leaving home.
The bureau explained that from April 26 to May 31, 2014, domestic profit-making enterprises, institutions, groups and business offices can use electronic certificates to go to the Ministry of Finance's tax portal ( https://www.etax.nat.gov.tw ) to query the information themselves or authorize others to query and download the information, making the declaration work easier.
The Bureau reminds that the income information queried by domestic profit-making enterprises, institutions, groups and business offices is classified according to the various vouchers reported by the issuing units, and is only for reference when declaring income tax. If taxpayers have other income besides the queried information, they should still declare it in accordance with the law; those who fail to declare in accordance with the regulations and have underreported or omitted reports, except for those who are exempted from penalties according to regulations, should still be punished according to the Income Tax Law and its relevant regulations.
